Improved Clinch Knot
The Improved Clinch knot is also another great fishing knot that has been used reliably for many years. The main difference between the clinch knot and the Improved Clinch knot is the introduction of a secondary tuck in the 2nd loop that is formed towards the end. This is normally a fisherman’s second knot to tie. Ideal fishing knot for any newcomer to the sport.

Pros
Easy to tie especially if you've mastered the clinch knot. Very linear neat knot. Great for preventing weed in fresh water areas. Easy to tie for thicker lines.
Cons
Prone to slippage if few wraps are used.
You will also need to know exactly how many wraps for specific line types.
Prone to failing if tag end is cut too short.
You will also need to understand the different variants the tag tuck will produce with regards to securing the tag end.
On thicker lines the opposite direction tag tuck version actually prevents the last wrap from seating correctly, as the line cannot unwind.
